Rachael’s paradise turns to a nightmare thumbnailRachael McConnell

A RATHFRILAND woman living and working in Australia has become a victim of crime.
Rachael McConnell (pictured) lost almost $1,000, a camera containing precious photographs of her travels and other personal items when she was mugged while holidaying in south-eastern Asia.
Rachael has been living in Melbourne since September 2009 and takes the opportunity, when it arises, to travel around neighbouring countries, taking in all the amazing sights.
She had visited Cambodia and Vietnam and was in the process of sightseeing in Laos, when she became the victim of a theft.
Rachael, a daughter of Jim and Janet McConnell from Moneygore, had her iPhone, cards and around $1,000 stolen from her in Luang Prabang, north central Laos.
Rachael - who says she would normally wear a moneybelt to make it harder for pick pockets - said the only reason she did not have one that day was because she had thought the area was a relatively crime-free place.
