BANBRIDGE will play host to an Employer Awareness Breakfast Event on Tuesday, 31 January.
This free event has been organised by the Department for Employment and Learning in partnership with Banbridge District Council and is open to all businesses in the Banbridge area.
The venue for this event is the Belmont Hotel, Rathfriland Road, Banbridge from 8am to 9.30am.
Employers will be given an overview of a range of services available to them from the Department for Employment and Learning, including Steps to Work, Pathways, Investors in People, ApprenticeshipsNI, Essential Skills, Bridge to Employment, and Management and Leadership Programmes.
Other organisations such as The Equality Commission, Labour Relations Agency, Invest NI, and the Local Enterprise Agency will also be in attendance to provide advice and guidance to all companies in attendance.
Highlighting the benefits to local businesses, Clare Mooney, Employer Contact Manager for the Department for Employment and Learning, said: "Employers will be able to learn first hand about the range of opportunities available, whether wishing to improve workplace learning, address skills gaps, enhance management techniques or simply to recruit new staff with the assistance of our employer subsidies.
Gordons Chemist, a company with over 60 pharmacies across Northern Ireland and Scotland and whose main headquarters and distribution centre is located on the Scarva Road, Banbridge, will share personal experiences about how they have benefited from the support of Department for Employment and Learning programmes."
Banbridge District Council Enterprise Development Officer, Elaine McAlinden, commented: "This event is about giving local employers the opportunity to learn about the sources of advice, guidance and support that are available across a wide range of business areas.
“In the current economic climate, employers should be aware how to utilise the services available to them at no cost.
“We are delighted to be working in partnership with the Department for Employment and Learning to bring this event to the district."
A light breakfast will be provided from 8am offering a networking opportunity for all businesses attending the event.
Employers are requested to register by 25 January as places are limited and will be offered on a first come first served basis.
