Speculation of M&S looking at Banbridge

Wednesday, 11 January 2017

MARKS & Spencer has refused to comment on speculation of a new food store opening in Banbridge town centre.

Rumours have been circling in recent weeks that the established retailer is set to open a food store and cafe on the site of the former Supervalu store on Newry Street which closed last May.

However, yesterday (Monday), a Marks and Spencer spokesman said they "don't comment on rumour or speculation".

M&S already has an outlet clothing and household store at The Outlet at Bridgewater Park, Banbridge.

A few months back it was revealed that bakery chain Greggs is set to open a store in Banbridge.

The bakery chain is in the process of expanding their outlets right across Northern Ireland.

They are currently recruiting for a shop manager for their Newry Street store however no time frame has been given for when it will open.
