Rathfriland 10k fast approaching thumbnailRathfriland Runners launch the running and walking event in Rathfriland on Wednesday, 16 August.

Rathfriland Runners, in conjunction with Rathfriland Regeneration, are hosting their annual 10k/5k event on Wednesday 16 August at 7pm.

After the success of last year's event, the group is inviting everyone to come and take part in this charity event.

Their chosen charities this year are Cruse Bereavement NI and Cancer Focus, which are two charities that are very close to the members' hearts.

Whether you choose to do the run or walk, it is guaranteed to be a great night out for all the family.

The run will take in the same scenic views as previous years.

Registration is now open and can be done online or by calling into Milestone or SM Shoes.

As a reward for completing the run/walk, refreshments will be supplied by The Milestone and there will be cash prizes for the winners this year also.

The walk starts at 7pm while the run commences at 7.10pm but if you arrive a bit earlier, there will be a warm up by Personal Trainer, Adrian Megaw.

The 10k event will be chipped, however the 5k is unchipped as entrants can walk or run. It costs 15 to register for the 10k and 5 for the 5k fun run/walk.

Remember you don't have to go fast, you just have to go!
