Cormac Venney scored the first point of the game for Dundrum on 5 minutes. Ryan Hillen and Cathal Tumilty gave Drumgath a one point lead with points on 9 and 10 minutes respectively.

Ciaran Rice drew Dundrum level with a pointed free on 12 minutes. Cormac Venney edged Dundrum ahead with a point on 13 minutes. Colum McComish tied the contest with a pointed free on 14 minutes.

Drumgath began tentatively but they were moving up through the gears. Matthew McConville, Chrissy Hynes and Tiernan Burns turned over the lion's share of any Dundrum offensives that ventured into their defensive territory.

Paul Hillen instigated many Drumgath raids with clever distribution from Drumgath's half back line. Colm Maginn wrested early air supremacy from Dundrum at midfield. Shea Byrne and Ryan Hillen flourished, pointing on 15 and 16 minutes respectively.

Shea Byrne added a brace on 16 and 22 minutes. Oisin Hart replaced the injured Colum McComish on 22 minutes. Ryan Hillen pointed for Drumgath on 25 minutes. Dundrum were under constant Drumgath pressure and on 26 minutes Shea Byrne netted the goal that put the game beyond Dundrum and compounded Dundrum misery with a point on 28 minutes.

Shea presented a classy first half shift that could have been an accomplished performance with better decision making and distribution. A precocious talent. Colm Maginn pointed on 29 minutes to give Drumgath a ten point lead.

Liam Hynes replaced Oisin Toner for Drumgath at half time.

Aidan Fegan and Oisin McKibbin scored points apiece for Dundrum on 31 and 33 minutes respectively as they attempted to claw their way back into the game. Cathal Tumilty piled the pressure on Dundrum with a pointed free on 37 minutes.

Stephen Hynes, Ryan Hillen and Liam Hynes added points for Drumgath on 40, 41 and 45 minutes respectively. Kieran Walsh interrupted the Drumgath scoring spree with a point for Dundrum on 46 minutes. Aidan Fegan added another Dundrum point on 47 minutes.

Aaron Sloan sealed Dundrum's fate with a point for Drumgath on 48 minutes. Drumgath emptied the bench and closed the game down. Oisin McKibbin pointed for Dundrum on 50 minutes.

Cathal Tumilty added a brace for Drumgath on 52 and 57 minutes to give Drumgath a comprehensive victory and a valuable two points.
