Twelve Ballyvally archers took part and came away with five golds, one silver and one bronze.

In the barebow section, Ballyvally came away with a 1-2 on both ladies and gents.

Orla O'Connor (571) and Angela Cowan (505) did the honours for the ladies, while Robert Mallon (667) and Gilbert McClelland (565) won the gents.

In the men's compound Dean Hamilton (778) won with Alan Convery coming a creditable 4th (756).

Sam Jackson came 3rd in the masters barebow class and Marion Patterson won the ladies compound barebow class.

Ruth Gilmour won the ladies longbow while son Luke, shooting a completely different style, compound unlimited won the under 18 years section.

In the girls freestyle Andrea Murray- Lopez, the current Irish, UK and NI junior champion won the freestyle section.

The tournament was held in the Dargle Valley in Wicklow and although the weather was ideal for shooting, the course was very difficult with lots of steep and tricky shots.

Ballyvally archers are now preparing for the second stage of the Loughbrickland triple, the Bluebell Shoot which takes place next weekend and which follows the Buttercup in April.

The final leg of the treble will be the Primrose Shoot in June practices for this shoot will take place this week in Banbridge Leisure Centre during the seven normal club sessions.

In June the club moves outdoors for the summer season and details of the club's sessions can be obtained from the leisure centre.
