THREE members of Ballyvally Archery Club are headed for the World Championships in Hungary this month.
They are Joanne Walker and Robert Mallon, who are representing Team GB, and Rune Naeri, who is competing for Norway at the World Archery Field Championships in Budapest.
July is a busy month for the club, with them also involved in several other events.
These include the UK Junior Field Archery Championships, which are to be hosted by Ballyvally at Whyte's Estate Loughbrickland on Saturday, July 24 and Sunday, July 25.
Ballyvally members are reminded that assistance is welcome for final preparations on Friday, July 23 and for adult helpers to accompany juniors around the course.
Ballyvally archers will also be running their usual 'have-a-go at archery' stand at Castlewellan Show on Saturday 17 July, which sees members of the public trying their hand at archery and top scorers competing for a final prize.
Ballyvally members coming to help are reminded to wear club clothing.
The club's fourth annual Archery Summer School will be held from July 18-20 for both junior and senior archers who want to learn new skills or focus on improving existing skills.
From 10am to 4pm each day, the course will commence in Banbridge Leisure Centre on Sunday, July 18 before moving out to the field archery course at Whyte's Estate, Loughbrickland, on Monday 19 and Tuesday July 20.
The Summer School costs £15 and will be excellent preparation for those taking part in the UK Junior Field Archery Championships the following weekend. Anyone interested in enrolling in the Summer School is asked to contact Frank Mulligan on 4062 3748 from Saturday, July 10.
