Big turnout at outdoor shoot

BALLYVALLY'S first outdoor shoot at Loughbrickland saw a top turnout as 86 archers competed for the FITA Arrowhead round.
The event was very successful, with Northern Ireland records being broken by a number of the competing archers with12 archers claimed arrowheads in this international event.
Seven competitors from the Ballyvally club - Aimee Convery, Ruth Gilmour, Rebecca Lennon, Joel Bell, Sophie McConville, Jake Walsh and Bernie Scullion all excelled.
There was also a number of junior record breakers, with Cameron Harvey, at his second shoot, and Luke Gilmour shooting white pegs.
In the senior sections, both Ruth Gilmour and Bernie Scullion were delighted to also thrash existing records.
Darren Ervine also shot very well to come third in the mens barebow and Robert Mallon shot an excellent 334 on day two to just pip Gilbert McClelland by one point.

Members are asked to note that top GB coach Maggie Squires will be in the club over the next while for coaching sessions. Most sessions are full but there are a few spaces left, especially on the Monday.
The Club Presentation night will be on Friday night, 3 February in the Belmont Hotel and members are asked to return the 70 trophies which will be awarded on that night ASAP!
The next big club indoor shoot will be the Valentine's shoot and it will be on Wednesday night, 15 February and entry forms will be out next week.
