Drumgath stalwart, Patsy will be missed thumbnailPatsy McPolin

DRUMGATH GAC bid an emotional farewell to a club great last weekend.

Patsy McPolin was laid to rest in Barnmeen graveyard on Sunday (6 November).

Patsy was best known for his involvement with and dedication to Drumgath GAC.

In a statement to The Outlook, a club spokesperson said: "Our deepest sympathies are with Patsy's family at this time. Patsy was still an active member in the club after his 80th birthday, which he celebrated with us back in July.

“Patsy devoted his life to Drumgath to which we will be forever grateful.

“It would have been a rare occasion to visit Drumgath when Patsy would not have been seen (or heard) and I can only imagine there will be less O'Neills about the place, as he would always make sure there was more came in than went out.

“A true 'club man', he will be forever missed. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam."
