Double delight for boxing club thumbnailBoxer of the Championship, Odhran Clancy, boxed three contests in as many nights to lift the Boy 1 36kg title.

RATHFRILAND ABC collected two titles at the recent Armagh/Down Championship, which was held at Dunbarton Bowling Club, Gilford.

Eleven-year-old Odhran Clancy boxed three contests in as many nights to lift the Boy 1 36kg title.

Odhran also lifted the Boxer of the Championship which was picked by legendary Laurencetown boxer, Gerry Hanna.

Gerry stated although there were older and more experienced boxers in the championship, he was impressed with Odhran's work rate which never dropped throughout his three contests.

Clancy's next outing is in the final of the Ulster Championship in Toome on Saturday, 10 December.

The club's second title was won by Paul Travers, who fought three hard rounds with tough Silverbridge boxer MJ Loughran.

This was a good test for Paul, who is improving with every bout and is making good ground in the open section.

The club will be holding a quiz this coming Saturday night in Mourne View (Larrys) at 8.30pm. All support is welcome.
