Congratulations to St Patrick's P.S. Mayobridge on winning the All-Ireland St Clare's Camogie Tournament on Friday in Cavan. Well done everyone!

On Saturday Mayobridge hosted a U14 Regional Feile. There were six teams from over Ireland participating and a large crowd enjoyed a spectacle of sport. The club would like to thank all who helped out on the day to make the event so successful Mayobridge under 14s were away to Rostrevor on Monday night and registered a good win after a closely-fought contest.

The Sky Blues had a few regulars missing due to injuries but their replacements all performed well.

At half-time the home side held a narrow lead but early in the second half Eoin Sherry hit the net to put the 'Bridge in front.

Rostrevor responded with a wave of attacks but the 'Bridge defence held firm. Goals from Kealan McEvoy and Jack Gribben gave the Sky Blues a bit of breathing space and despite further Rostrevor pressure, they kept their noses in front until the end and won on a scoreline of 3-10 to 1-11.

A fine victory for the 'Bridge with each player giving 100 per cent as usual but Cathal Magee deserves special mention for an exceptional performance against a physically stronger opponent.

Team and scorers: Conor Pollard, Cathal Magee, Darragh White, Ben McMahon, Conor Goss, Dan Griffin 0-2, Brian Grant, Thomas Hardy 0-1, Joe Rice, Paddy Woods, James McManus 0-3, Eoghan Woods, Ronan Patterson 0-3, Jack Gribben 1-1, Eoin Sherry 0-1, Kealan McEvoy 1-0.

Mayobridge minor camogie team travelled to Newry on Tuesday evening in search of a first league victory and they achieved that aim with a good win over Newry Shamrocks.

The 'Bridge girls dominated the first half and by the break had built up a commanding lead, 3-8 to 0- 0.

In the second half the Sky Blue girls picked up where they left off and continued to dominate proceedings.

Shenna McNamee pointed three times, Grace McShane's constant running was rewarded with a goal.

Eimear Magee came on in the second half and put in a great shift, contributing 1-1 to the final score.

Last word has to go to Mollie Smyth who added a further eight points to her personal tally of 2-14.

On the night all the girls played well. The defence was strong, Lauren Keenan put in a massive shift and won every ball. Our midfielders worked hard and sent some fantastic ball into the forward line as well as making some great runs.

The forwards stepped up to the mark and would have scored more if it wasn't for fantastic goalkeeping by the Shamrocks custodian. Final score: Mayobridge 5-20, Newry Shamrocks 2-0.
