CONGRATULATIONS to Down Senior footballers on a fantastic win over Monaghan in the Athletic Grounds on Saturday night, in particular our own four panellists Michael, Coly, Sean and Rory.

This week we wish Cara, Aoife and Catriona good luck in the ladies football Ulster final on Friday night in Clonmore at 7.30pm.

Also our U10 girls Alanna, Aine and Alisha who will play at half time.

Good luck girls! Thanks to all those who supported our Big Breakfast on Sunday morning past. We had a great turnout and raised 520 for our juvenile teams.

Thanks to chef Jimmy Kennedy and to Noreen and all the girls who helped out. Food was fantastic and a great atmosphere about the place especially after a great performance from Down on Saturday night.

It was great to have many of our county footballers and camogs in attendance.

The second club draw is this Saturday night in the clubrooms, with live entertainment. Please have your ticket returns in early. Thank you for your continued support and good luck! Castlewellan minors ended the first round of minor fixtures with a convincing 5-23 to 1-11 victory over Saul. That made it six wins from eight matches.

The lads played their best football of the season playing as a team and moving the ball first time at every opportunity.

Best for the Town were Oisin O'Toole, Matt Muldoon, Johnny McVeigh, Eoin Maginn and Eoin Travers who had a personal tally of 1-13 all from play.

The focus for the panel is now on the championship campaign where they hope to give it a good run and bring some silverware back to the club.

The senior footballers were beaten by Kilcoo on Friday night in Newcastle with the final score Castlewellan 0-7 Kilcoo 0-16. Next game away to Mayobridge this Friday night 7.30pm.

Castlewellan U12s came away with a great two-point victory against a well-drilled Loughinisland team on Sunday.
