Seaforde to host next moto event

THE Ulster Motocross Championship will return to County Down this Thursday, 13 July with titles up for grabs.

The Mourne Motorcycle Club will host the fourth round of the 2017 Championship at clubman Norman Green's Seaforde MotoParc.

Lisburn man Richard Bird is leading the Premier MX1 class, with Banbridge rider Ryan Adair fighting for a top three place in the standings.

The season ended early for Premier MX2 class favourite, Loughbrickland man Jason Meara, which has left Dundonald rider James Mackrel leading Dubliner Jordan Keogh by one point in the championship standings.

In the Semi Expert MX 1 class Derry man Josh McCorkell leads Lurgan's Mark Dynes by 32 points.

In the Semi Experts MX2 class Loughbrickland's Cailum Meara sits just eight points behind the leader, Paul Laverty, with Downpatrick man Sean Laverty aiming for a top three place in the standings.

After three rounds Carrick man Johnny Haywood holds a 74- point lead in the Clubman MX1 class, while Ballygowan rider Johnny Presho holds a slender 15- point lead at the front of the Clubman MX2 class.

On the day, the bikes will be out on the track from 9.30am, with the first race to start at 11am.

Entry to the event will cost 5 for adults, while children go free and car parking is also free.
