Yellas going for gold. thumbnailClonduff camogs are going for gold in their 50th year.

THIS Saturday, 21 October the Clonduff Camogs will take on Eglish in the Ulster Intermediate Camogie Final.

This is already a historic year for the club as they are celebrating their 50th ann iversary.

Celebrations were kicked off early in the year with a banquet in the Four Seasons Hotel in Carlingford.

The girls turned out that night much more glamorous than they will on Saturday.

Indeed, they won their first county title in 2007 when they were celebrating their 25th anniversary.

The club won their fifth county title in September in a hard-fought victory over Ballygalget from the Ards.

This will be the club's third appearance in an Ulster Final. They've experienced both the joy and the heartbreak in their two previous appearances.

Saturday's opponents, Eglish will be out for revenge having lost by the narrowest of margins after a replay to Clonduff when the two teams last met at this stage in 2014.

Today's team has a good mix of youth and experience with seven of the team having five senior championship medals.

The girls face a very difficult challenge as Eglish are defending champions and are aiming for three in a row.

We wish the girls the best of luck and encourage all in Clonduff to get them behind them and to be the 16th player along the line.
