Not to be for Valley as Hanover win Radcliffe. thumbnailThe Valley Rangers team which took part in the Bob Radcliffe final on Boxing Day.

IT WASN'T to be Valley's day as Hanover took the Bob Radcliffe Cup home to Portadown.

Valley Rangers...0.

Whilst Valley had their chances, Hanover deservedly picked up the Boxing Day honour on 26 December.

A bumper crowd witnessed a close first half, indeed Hanover almost grabbed the lead when McIIveen's header was well saved by McVeigh.

Valley almost grabbed the lead following an almighty scramble but Hanover survived. Matt Johnston was replaced having suffered a knock to the head.

On 40 minutes, Richardson delivered a dangerous free and McIlveen headed home.

Half time arrived with Hanover in front. Valley started the second half brightly and Hanover 'keeper Matt Shortt produced a fantastic double save to deny Andy Graham.

Hanover went 2-0 up when White got free from a corner to head home.

Valley chased the game, which left space for Hanover who duly finished the game off when Bradley tapped in.

All-in-all not the outcome Valley had hoped for and Hanover grabbed a deserved win.

Valley will have to dust themselves down for the rest of the season.

Best for Valley were Brendy Mc- Veigh, Andy McCoy and Lee Newell.

McVeigh picking up the Man of the Match award producing some top notch saves.
