Last Tuesday night West Down Wheelers held the last of their 10 Mile TTs on the Rathfriland Road, this time it was for the Maxwell Cup.
It was also no TT Gear night with riders all on an even level having to ride it on road bikes. There was a good turnout of 28 riders who signed on to compete which was good to see. To give everyone a chance it is also a H/Cap event and Wheelers Philip (Tin) McKinstry made good use of his to win the Maxwell Cup. Tin is a firm favourite in the Wheelers - a rider who never misses a race and everyone was delighted for him ending the season with a trophy.
Some other good times were recorded with Wilkie in the 23s and Dave 24s although they both know they can go faster. Fastest on the night was Dromara’s Nathan Mullan with a 22 , what a season he has had.
Once again massive thanks to all who have supported the races throughout the season and look forward to next yeae. All times on our Facebook and web.
Keenan Autumn Road Race
Last Saturday West Down Wheelers Geoff Tate headed to Portadown to take part in the Keevan Road Race.
With only a few races left time was running out on Geoff gathering enough points to make it into the A3s for next year but it didn’t matter as Geoff did what we knew he could do. A fantastic result for him and well deserved and good luck to him next year in the A3s.
