Under 16 Championship Final

Nan Sands Park, Saval set in glorious sunshine, paid host to a magnificent final witnessed by a large band of support as Annaclone ran out worthy winners.

The teams were tied at 1.03 apiece before a superb point from Ciara Mc Avoy separated the sides at the break. With championship final nerves behind them at the interval, Annaclone emerged focused, tenacious and fully aware of their role delivered by management team of Maeve Mc Neill and Kevin Sheppard. Tara Mc Anearney epitomised the spirit of the team with break ball winning and astute direct deliveries. Co captains Kerri Mc Neill and Katie Mc Conville were exceptional either side of midfield with Helen Vaughan, Kate and Maria Fegan never say die attitude reflected by Mollie Sheppard who added to a steely rearguard. Overall it was a fine team performance that saw the girls limit opposition to a solitary second half score whilst adding 4.05 with some sublime scores from Niamh McClory resulting from slick interplay.

The squad and management would like to thank all their supporters, sponsors and well wishers for a fantastic finale to the season.
