THE man who first reported a Ballymartin man’s repeated abuse of him over a 10 month period more than 30 years ago says he believes it is a “disgrace” the “monster” who assaulted him dozens of times will spend just 12 months in jail.

Paul Milligan, now 49, of Binnian View Park, admitted a host of sexual offences against three victims, two male and one female in the late 1980s and early 1990s.

He accepted seven charges of indecent assault on a male, four charges of gross indecency with or towards a child and one of indecent assault on a female.

Milligan was ordered to serve one year in prison with a further two on probation after he admitted a host of historic sexual offences.

He was several years older than each of his victims at the time of the offending, which he only finally admitted almost immediately after a jury was sworn in for a trial in December.

And two of Milligan’s three victims have spoken to The Outlook to express their anger at the sentence but also sense of vindication their abuser is now behind bars.
