RATHFRILAND Cross Community Amateur Boxing Club was delighted to welcome Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State Fleur Anderson to view the current and proposed new boxing club.

Minister Anderson’s visit coincided with the exciting news of an offer of funding from the Community Ownership Fund for the club to progress with a new purpose-built club and training facilities.

Reforming in 2013, the Rathfriland Cross Community Amateur Boxing Club continues to welcome children and young people from a wide range of different backgrounds and cultures and with varying levels of skills and abilities.

Currently the club is run by a dedicated Committee, 10 volunteer coaches who support 60 amateur boxers aged from 8-21 years. The club supports training for young boys and girls from all sectors of the local community.
